From its inception in 1948 as a football scrimmage between Drake University and Graceland College, the Kiwanis Basketball Jamboree has evolved through the years. Today it is an annual event that has raised nearly $1.5 million to benefit disadvantaged children and youth programs in the Greater Des Moines area.
This year's beneficiary is Ronald McDonald House Charities! The mission of RMHC is to create, find and support programs that directly improve the health and wellbeing of children. We will be helping RMHC build a new playground at their facility on Pleasant Street, across from Unity Point Hospital. (read more)
